About the Author
Since 1995, John Kenmuir has taught both in Canada and internationally, in South Korea, China and Saudi Arabia. He has taught for both local and international colleges and universities, and worked as a Speaking Examiner for the IELTS exam in Shanghai, China, from 2003 until 2009. He currently lives and works in Merida, Mexico, where he continues to teach online and write educational materials.
Mr. Kenmuir is the author of "Surviving IELTS Speaking", in which he prepares first time candidates for the exam. The book is intended for weaker or nervous candidates who might not achieve their potential; it explains how the exam works and what candidates should and should not do. It also helps students to understand the source of their nervousness and introduces coping mechanisms to deal with exam anxiety. The book is also available as a Kindle ebook edition.
In his spare time, Mr. Kenmuir enjoys numerous outdoor sports, including hiking, mountain biking and motorcycling. He is a repeat volunteer for the TELUS Ride For Dad motorcycle rally, which raises money for prostate cancer research and education.
Mr. Kenmuir enjoys travelling and looks forward to becoming a travel writer and photographer in the future; his future writing plans include writing about Western Culture (which he has taught to students in China), his past and future travels, and most importantly, why people prefer either cats or dogs.
